The fishery fund, covering an area of 27.8 thousand hectares, consists of 81 reservoirs, of which 59 reservoirs are suitable for fisheries activities. Tasotkelskoye and Ters-Ashibulakskoye are distinguished from large reservoirs. The predominant commercial fish species are silver carp, white amur, carp, carp, pike perch, bream, crab, roach.

The State Nature Reserve “Berikkara Tract” is a complex nature reserve, covers an area of 17.5 thousand hectares, where you can find more than 50 species of especially valuable woody—shrubby and herbaceous plants listed in the Red Book, and of animals – argali, Indian porcupine, paradise flycatcher;
The state Nature Reserve “Karakoniz tract” — botanical, with a total area of 3.07 thousand hectares, is located in the western spurs of the Trans-Ili Alatau. Fruit plantations of apple trees, cherries, cherry plums, grapes are replaced by sections of maple forest, white acacia, mulberry, walnut;
Andasai State Nature Reserve — zoological, with a total area of 1 million hectares, is located on the right bank of the Shu River to the west of the village of Moyinkum. The vegetation cover is dominated by grasshopper, tipchak, biyurgun, rare ephemera, black saxaul, thickets of shrubby willows. The animal world is represented by argali, kulans, gazelles, roe deer, wild boars, hares, pheasants, partridges.
The State Nature Reserve “Zhusandala” is a nature reserve with a total area of 2.7575 million hectares, which also covers part of the Almaty region.
